About Katrina:
My name is Katrina O'Donnell. I am a certified Birth Doula, with additional certification in Bengkung Belly Binding, Advanced Comfort Measures for childbirth and Hypnobirthing support. I have always loved babies and the idea of natural birth. Growing up I loved the idea of pregnancy, but I always had a fear of labour. Then I watched the documentary "The Business of Being Born" and I became a very passionate advocate for natural childbirth and the idea that labour was not a thing to be feared. Since then I have read many books on the subject and continue growing my knowledge of birth, so that I can assist women in doing what comes naturally to us, which is often forgotten.
I am very passionate about this and I have no doubt that I can make your birth experience the best it can be, whether in a hospital or in your own home. My home is in New Tecumseth, which is about 45 minutes north of Toronto. I will gladly drive to the Toronto area to see you, so no matter where you are don't hesitate to contact me.
On a more personal level, I am a mother of one very awesome son, Finnick. He is a crazy little man that has quickly become my world. However, I like to consider myself a bit of a nerd. I am a very friendly and spiritual person, and even though I wish I could have been around in the 70's, I do still enjoy video games, movies and television shows. I am a crazy animal lover, and if it were up to me, I would have a house full of animals. I currently live in my home with my husband Kevin, son Finnick, our three cats Nala, Spots and Spyro, and our ferret Alice. For full-time work, I work with my family business in North York, selling drain cleaning equipment and tools. This is great because it allows me the freedom to leave work once you have gone into labour, or if you need to call me with any questions.
